How to dismiss a recommendation

This guide walks you through dismissing a recommendation for a warehouse in Slingshot. Dismissing a recommendation removes it from view when you do not plan to apply it (for example, if the recommendation conflicts with a service level agreement (SLA) for a production workload).

Anyone who can apply a recommendation on a warehouse can also dismiss a recommendation.

Dismissing a recommendation permanently removes it from the list. Slingshot generates new recommendations for the warehouse on its standard weekly or monthly schedule.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Navigate to either the Recommendation Details page or the Warehouse Details page for your target warehouse.

2. Select Dismiss on the recommendation you want to remove.

Turn off recommendations for a warehouse

You can turn off Slingshot recommendations for any warehouse at any time.

Turning off recommendations stops new ones from being generated, but it won’t affect recommendations you’ve already applied.

You can turn recommendations back on at any time using the same toggle. Once re-enabled, Slingshot resumes generating recommendations on its normal schedule without automatically applying them.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Navigate to the Warehouses listing page, a Warehouse Details page, or a Recommendation Details page.

2. Select your target warehouse.

3. Toggle the Recommendations switch to Off or On.
