Feature release

• Enhanced retention of onboarded Snowflake data - The Query Details page will provide extended historical retention of onboarded Snowflake data in Slingshot beyond the 14-day limit displayed on the Snowflake UI.
  • Customers that opt into this feature preview can:
  • Identify costliest queries from the Slingshot homepage and drill directly into performance breakdowns, eliminating the need to search through Snowflake logs.
  • Track query health over time. Spot the exact moment a query degraded—due to schema changes, data growth, or optimizer updates—by leveraging all query history retained since onboarding to Slingshot.
  • Measure the impact of changes by viewing before-and-after performance comparisons directly on the Query Details page.
  • Connect cost to action. Navigate from Optimization Hub “red flag” areas (poor pruning, high cloud service cost, long-running failures) to the specific queries causing the issue via direct links on the Query Details page.
  • Any role/user with permissions to view Warehouse Recommendations will be able to navigate to the Query Details page from the following UI locations:
  • Warehouse Schedule > Projected Impacted Queries
  • Costliest Queries widget on the Home page
  • Before / After Comparison Period on the Warehouse Details > Change History page
  • Optimization Hub: Poor query pruning, Long Running Failed Queries, Single row inserts, Queries with high cloud service cost

• Updated metadata share - We are working on new features that will rely on tables we haven’t used previously. To support these features, we’re ingesting additional metadata from the already approved Snowflake Secure Data Share used by Slingshot. During our metadata ingestion, we’re adding the following SNOWFLAKE.ACCOUNT_USAGE tables to our sync, and you may see a one-time pull of 1 year of historical data.

• Usage Analysis dashboard update - Slingshot has removed the Schemas count widget from the Storage tab on the Usage Analysis dashboard as part of ongoing efforts to streamline the dashboard experience.

Feature releases

• Recommendations for Snowflake Gen2 warehouses - Customers can now receive Weekly and Monthly recommendations for their onboarded Snowflake Generation 2 warehouses:

• Weekly recommendations: Slingshot supports increasing warehouse schedule recommendations from Monthly to Weekly to help you capture savings and react to changes faster. All customers will see the first set starting February 2, 2026.

  • Note: This is an optional feature, so please contact to your Customer Support representative if you are interested in converting from Monthly to Weekly recommendations.
